Overgrips are designed to absorb sweat effectively and can be an excellent addition to your tennis racket as they help improve the overall grip and avoid your racket slipping in your hand, especially during hot weather when you may sweat more. If you tend to sweat more, we recommend purchasing a tackier overgrip, such as the Dunlop Super Tac Overgrip.
We recommend replacing your overgrip as soon as the surface loses its tackiness or begins to show signs of wear and discolouration. After your overgrip starts to lose its tackiness, you might start to find it hard to maintain a consistent grip of the racket, and you risk causing injury as you grip more tightly to compensate for the slipping.
If you only need to increase the thickness of your racket, then an overgrip would be best as these only increase the thickness slightly. If you find the racket grip is too thin and you want a significant increase, you may want to consider using a replacement grip instead, as these are thicker with more cushioning.
