Whether you’re a tennis coach, a squash club, or an advanced player who likes to ensure the perfect tension when restringing your racket, having a restringing machine is an essential tool in your arsenal. Stringing Machines are designed to make restringing your tennis, squash, or badminton rackets much simpler than if you were to do it by hand alone. Â
At Stringers’ World, we understand the importance of having an accurate stringing machine at your disposal to restring your rackets. Our range of stringing machines is ideal for those looking to try a new string pattern, restring their rackets themselves, or replace worn-out strings that have lost tension.Â
Whether for a high-performance academy or a specialist facility, these machines represent a significant opportunity to increase the level of service provided to players. By integrating a professional-grade restringing setup, you can offer a reliable, on-site service that meets the exacting standards of the modern game.
Yes, you can restring a racket yourself. However, doing it by hand can be harder to do, so we recommend using a stringing machine and having a number of stringing tools to help you restring your racket.
When used correctly, a stringing machine is the safest way to maintain your racket. Our range of stringing machines features multi-point mounting systems, which are designed to distribute the pressure evenly across the racket frame. Damage only typically happens when the racket has been mounted incorrectly or pulled significantly more than what the manufacturer recommends. This is why when restringing your racket, you must follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Restringing a racket can be difficult to master to begin with, as it can be fiddly to do. After you have restrung a few rackets, you’ll find the process becomes much easier and quicker. We recommend using a synthetic gut string to begin, whilst you familiarise yourself with the weaving patterns, as these types of strings are more forgiving
The tension of your racket is a personal preference, with different tensions offering different playability. For example, a lower tension (~50-55lbs for tennis) provides more power and comfort, whilst higher tensions (~58lbs+) offer better control and precision. However, when restringing your racket, you must stay within the recommended range printed on your racket to prevent damage to the frame.
Restringing your racket as a beginner can take around an hour as you learn patterns and tensions. After practice and restringing a few rackets, the time it takes often becomes much quicker, with experienced stringers taking around 25 – 40 mins to complete one racket.
